The rectangular rug is representing the reflection we see of ourselves when looking into the mirrors of nature; puddles, rivers or streams. The mirrors are reflecting the world around us, forcing us to contemplate. Faces without eyes, afraid to open them and be confronted with the person reflecting or with the world that is surrounding us. The two faces are similar, only designed with a bit variation symbolizing we sometimes see our reflection in a different way than others. The dividing line between the faces represents the surface - one face above and the other beneath the surface.
This design is drawn with an outline to frame the motif. This creates a graphic touch to the organic lines which gives contrast to the design. You will also see a contrast in the height of the pile as I've chosen to create a variation in the lines. Lower pile that follows the motif and higher pile for the rest of the rug - creating movement and tactility.
I've carefully chosen the different colors for the rugs and the rectangular rug comes in three different colours; beige with a dark blue line, black with beige line and a colorful one. The black rug representing the reflections at night and the beige rug reflections in daytime. In the colorful rug you'll find colors inspired from nature itself, with blue nuances from the water, green from the trees and violet from the flowers.
Each design comes in two different sizes; 140x200 and 170x200 and only produced in an exclusive issue of 5 pieces. I've chosen this limited amount so you can have something original and I also love the idea that only selected people have my art rugs in their homes. The rugs are art pieces for your floor.
